Paul Douglas

I trained originally as a State Registered Nurse at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup. After my initial training, I undertook specialist post-basic training in Intensive Care nursing at St. George's Hospital, Tooting and in Accident and Emergency nursing at Lewisham Hospital and Sydenham Children's Hospital. Later I trained in aeromedicine at the Royal College of Nursing.

The majority of my nursing career was spent in the National Health Service, in the areas of Accident and Emergency, Intensive Care and Burns. I gained considerable experience in clinical, managerial and teaching roles.

I gained my Bachelor of Science degree and Licentiate Diploma in Acupuncture and certificate in medical Qi Gong at the London School of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, a college affiliated to the University of Portsmouth. Following my degree, I also completed a period of clinical training at the Hangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China.

I have also studied for extra qualifications in Korean Hand Acupunture, sports acupuncture, auricular (ear) acupuncture, facial (cosmetic) acupuncture, Indian head massage and Hopi ear candling (thermo-auricular therapy).

I also have a post-graduate, professional diploma in Tuina, the traditional Chinese massage and manipulation system from Middlesex University.

I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council.
